Senior System Engineer
Reporting to Senior Vice President – Infrastructure, you will be responsible for:
• architecting highly complex, global solutions across the appropriate environments to meet business requirements or enhance performance
• identifying, designing and/or developing tools for operating and managing the infrastructure
• understanding and translating business requirements into technical requirements
• leading and supporting centralized monitoring solutions for IT infrastructure
• providing leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel
• evaluating, integrating and supporting off-the-shelf enterprise applications
• designing and improving automation and tools for systems management, including development of scripts and building tools to help service owners and infrastructure management services
• designing and implementing dashboards to show health of IT infrastructure and IT Operations metrics
• investigating and/or prototyping suitable new tools and technologies
• providing complex technical consultation on current and proposed systems
• collaborating with different teams to integrate various enterprise systems and applications
• 24x7 on-call responsibilities and working with the team(s) in Vietnam to maintain the on-call schedule
In order to succeed in the role, you should ideally have:
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• 6 to 8 years of experience architecting tools and supporting systems in a large enterprise environment
• solid understanding of Linux and related network services, TCP/IP networking
• experience working with enterprise and open source IT infrastructure monitoring solutions
• excellent programming skills in one or more of the following: Python/Ruby/Perl
• strong knowledge of databases preferably MySQL
• strong leadership and communication skills
• excellent problem solving and debugging skills
• Good knowledge of System Integration and Enterprise Application Integration techniques
Desired Qualifications:
• knowledge of software development lifecycle
• excellent written and verbal communication skills
• self driven and ability to work and manage multiple projects
• ability to quickly pick up new languages and frameworks
• comfortable working in a highly collaborative, consensus-oriented environment
• experience with virtualization technologies a plus
• experience with NoSQL(Memcache and Redis) a plus
• experience working with log aggregation tools a plus
• experience with configuration management tools: Puppet, Chef and etc.
